I am a great food lover. Travelling to many places has blessed me with exposing my palate to a variety of local dishes and cuisines. Every dish has its own amazing flavors and spices, and when mixed in right proportion along with religious ways of cooking, you can enjoy a heavenly treat.
It is my admiration to food that has turned me into an ingenious and creative cook. I like to try different dishes and serve my dear ones. One of my favorite dishes is chicken tikka masala. The mere sight of it raises hunger pangs in my stomach!!
Well, so here I am sharing my all-time favorite recipe of this delicious dish. Do give it a try and enjoy it on your platter.
The ingredient list is quite lengthy, but it’s worth the taste of the cuisine. The ingredients needed to make four servings are:
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 4 teaspoons salt, or to taste
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3 teaspoons salt, or to taste
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Mix all the marinating ingredients in a large bowl and keep the mixture in the refrigerator for 1 hour. This allows the flavors to seep into the chicken.
After 1 hour, take out the chicken pieces and arrange on the skewers. Grill in a pre heated oven for 5 minutes from each side. Meanwhile, heat butter in a large pan. When heated, add garlic and jalapeno and sauté till garlic turns light brown. Add all the masala ingredients and cook for 20 minutes on low heat.
Then, add chicken and sauté for 5-10 minutes. The dish is ready to be served. Transfer in serving platter and garnish with cilantro.
